"For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost." - Luke 19:10
Our goal is to carry out the mission Jesus established by focusing on these five core components.
Developing habits toward hearts of genuine servitude in the community
Encouraging attitudes toward oneness in Christ among all of God’s people
Strengthening devotion to Christ toward a closer relationship with Him and His family
Stimulating reverence for God toward an intimacy with Him in the lives of His believers
Endorsing courage to share God’s message of saving grace toward adding to the number of souls going to Heaven
Using the Bible as God’s holy message, Tulsa Church of Christ offers practical tools for leading a joyous, abundant, and peaceful life. We aspire to strengthen each person’s confidence and joy in Jesus Christ – at every point in their life. We encourage personal and spiritual growth through prayer, Bible study, and active service in our church and community.
At Tulsa Church of Christ, we encourage active participation when we come together to worship. Our assemblies are always family integrated as we sing together, pray together, and learn together. Each Sunday, we also join to commune in a shared salvation and give towards a united goal.
Songbooks are available and page numbers are provided so that everyone can sing along. All engage in listening to a message from the Bible guided by one of the men of the church. Various men take their arranged turns so that you and your family can benefit from hearing each message.
Each Sunday, we share a meal following the morning assembly. We also celebrate monthly birthdays one Wednesday each month. You are welcome to join us and stay to eat with us!
We invite you to explore our beliefs and join us in our pursuit of living out our faith in boldness and passion.
We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. He is the central figure of Christianity, the Word of God made flesh. Jesus was sent by God to be the ultimate sacrifice for our sins so that we could enjoy an eternal life with Him. Jesus’ teachings on love, forgiveness, humility, and repentance are at the core of our beliefs. We also believe in Jesus’ resurrection, that it was proof of His deity and the promise of eternal life for all those who believe. We are called to follow Jesus, to live lives of holiness, and to share the good news of the gospel. “For you have been called for this purpose, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you would follow in His steps,” 1 Peter 2:21 NASB. As we learn to love and serve others, we are reminded of Jesus’ example of love and sacrifice.
We believe in the power of prayer, both individually and corporately, as an expression of faith in God's work in our lives. Prayer is an essential part of a Christian life and is used to talk to God and to communicate with Him. “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Philippians 4:6 NASB. We pray for guidance, strength, healing, protection, and for our families, friends, and community. Through prayer, we seek to deepen our understanding of God's will and His plans for our lives. Praying helps us grow closer to God and to gain a better understanding of His will and how we can best serve Him. Prayer is a beautiful and powerful way to communicate with our Heavenly Father.
We believe in the Christian doctrinal belief of The Church. We believe that the Church is a holy assembly of believers, united in faith and love. We strive to be a community of believers who are united in our faith in Jesus Christ and in our commitment to serve Him and His kingdom. “I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another. “By this all people will know that you are My disciples: if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35 NASB. We are committed to loving God and loving others, and to be known for our love for one another. We believe that the Church is a body of believers who are called to serve and to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ to all people. We seek to be faithful disciples of Jesus and to follow His teachings. We strive to live out our faith through loving actions and service to our community and the world.
We believe in worshiping together as a family, where every age is integrated into our meetings, reflecting the diverse body of Christ. "so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually parts of one another.” Romans 12:5 NASB. This approach allows us to learn from and support each other in our faith journey.
We believe in the divine inspiration of the Bible, that it is the true and inspired word of God. We believe that the Bible is our standard for life, and its truth, integrity, and relevance is of utmost importance. The Bible is not just a book, but a living guide, full of God’s wisdom and guidance. Through scripture, we learn about God’s character, how to live and act, and how to grow in our spiritual journey. “All Scripture is inspired by God and beneficial for teaching, for rebuke, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man or woman of God may be fully capable, equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 NASB. We believe that by reading and studying the Bible, we are able to draw closer to God and deepen our understanding of His love.
Each gathering is an opportunity to delve into the Scriptures, seeking to understand and live by God's Word. "For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all may be exhorted;” 1 Corinthians 14:31 NASB. Teachers take turns with an aim to equip believers with the knowledge and wisdom to lead Christ-like lives
We believe in salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe that Jesus was sent by God to save us and give us eternal life. Salvation is only possible through faith in Jesus and repentance of our sins. We understand that we are saved through grace and not by any works of our own. The Bible teaches us that no matter what mistakes we make, God’s love and grace are always available to us. for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus, whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in God’s merciful restraint He let the sins previously committed go unpunished; for the demonstration, that is, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.” Romans 3:23-26 NASB. We believe that through Jesus’ sacrifice, we are able to have the assurance of salvation and the promise of eternal life with God.
In observance of the Lord's Supper, we come together every Sunday to remember and proclaim the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. “and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of Me.” In the same way He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes.” 1 Corinthians 11:24-26 NASB. This time of reflection and thanksgiving is central to our worship, reaffirming our faith and our part in the body of Christ.
